South Shore Imagine Twin Loft Bed In Pure White Bunk Beds New This product is shipped in multiple boxes.
We love this bed!
I bought this bed a few weeks ago for my daughter's 4th birthday. We already had a twin bed in her room, plus a dresser and bookshelf, but the room was so crowded. She has the smallest room in the house at 9'x9.5'. I wasn't planning on buying her something new, but I noticed that she could not play in her room, and her older sister kept kicking her out of hers. Decided to surprise her with a birthday present. I ordered it on the Tuesday and had it the following Tuesday. We were able to move all the furniture out of her room, replace it with this one piece. she absolutely love the area under her bed. Bought little hanging lanterns for $17, also from Walmart, and just hung them up under the bed. Works greats, she loves it so much. We're looking at buying my other daughter the South Shore Logik bunk bed to create more room in her room.
Fairly easy to put together. I started assembling it on my own, which was fine, but definitely went a lot faster once my husband came home and we worked together. Took us about 3 hours.justupset
OK for the Money
It's made of particle board. Not a bad thing per se. One thing to be careful of, especially if it's for a boy, the ends prevent feet from being able to hang off the end of the bed. If your boy eventually grows to over 5 foot 5, you may have a problem with length. Also, the types of fasteners used don't allow for super tight joints. This is especially apparent in the drawers. Just double check all your fastners are tight and you should be fine. It's rated for 250 or 300 lbs I think, but I wouldn't put more than 1 person up top just to be safe. Especially if your kids are going to be jumping around.....it is just particle board after all. Other reviews said it took 6 hours for 2 people to assemble. It took my father and I 5 1/2 hours :).
Also, I'm very mechanically inclined, but I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to put the hinges on the door for the bottom cabinet. Luckily my nephew said he didn't want the door anyways.raybbj01
I bought this bed for my 5 years old son and he is ecstatic about it. The bed with the ladder is what he calls it. I found it was awkward for him at the beginning to get down the ladder but now he got used to it. He loves the little play area under. There is so much storage in the bed that I find his room stays mess-free longer than before. The little shelf high up is also great to store bedtime stuff and little toys.
I loved putting the bed together, instructions were clear. I like that you can switch the 'three drawers' piece with the 'door and drawer' one to fit the room configuration you have.
*Something to know about the delivery*
I had to help the delivery guy with one of the boxes as he was alone and that particular box weighted 120 lbs and is not easy to carry with a two-wheeled trolley (thin but very long). I used to work in the furniture department of a store before so i'm ok with manipulating heavy boxes but i wondered what would've happened if i'd been unable to help him...
Anyway, long story short, i'm very happy with my purchase.HappySonHappyMom
Great buy for the price-very happy.
I bought this for my 5yr old daughter for Christmas. We decided to assemble early, just in case there were any missing parts. Please note: assembly is not for the squeamish. We had 4 adults working on this and it took about 3 hours. Good news: no missing parts. Bad news: two of the 1,174 pieces were damaged, one required some wood glue and clamping overnight. Finished product: Feels sturdy. I have no worries that my daughter will break anything. Some of the top finished edges are pretty sharp, and since this is not real wood, we can't sand them down. We bought a std twin mattress, and it fits snugly. Will accomodate a 9" thick mattress. If you intend to hang a curtain (as shown in the photo), you'll need a 36" tension rod to mount underneath the book cubby.3aminspirations
