good bunk beds for the money
I got these bunk beds to give my daughter a bigger twin bed, and my boyfriend and I a new bed. My daughter was sleeping in a toddler bed. Unfortunately, due to finances and space we all stay in the same bedroom. I needed something to save space that would look nice and not cost a fortune. I found that in this bunk bed set. I really wanted a nice dark wood. The only complaints would be that the underneath drawers do not sit on a track or anything. They just rest on the floor. Also, the wooden slats are kind of flimsy if you are heavier set. You definitely will need a box spring even though it says no need for one. A bonus is that this bunk bed set can be separated into two beds.gidget327
Very Nice Bunk Bed for the Price...
This is a very nice bunk bed for the price. The color is a mix of espresso and cherry which is beautiful. It wasn't very difficult to put together, my husband and I did it in about 2 hours. My son loves it. Now the only down side I see with the bed are the slats that hold the mattresses up. Though they say you will not need a bunky board, I don't think the slats that are included will last very long. I think I am going to purchase a couple of pieces of ply wood to reinforce the slats...because boys will be boys. Other than that, I am very pleased with my purchase.Charse5
Beautiful and solid
Nice design and looks great in the room. It was fun putting it together; my 5 years old daughter was a great help in holding the pieces and picking up screws, instructions, etc. for me. The suggestions that I have for the manufacturer are: (1) make the top rail a little bit taller because the mattress for these types of beds are pretty thick, (2) strengthen the support bars for the mattress - the bars came with are very weak - I had to add more to reinforce both top and bottom, and (3) use heat treatment for the main screws - I was very careful but stripped the head of one indented hex. It would be fun to remove it later!Altenia
Color is not a true espresso
Although the quality of this bed is very good for the price, my husband and I were VERY disappointed when we got this home and opened it to see that the color is cherry NOT espresso. The bed totally clashes with our childs dark brown dressers which are considered a true espresso. We would not have purchased this bed if we would have seen it in person. If you are looking for a bunk and are not worried about the color then I would recommend it because it is a nice piece and it is easy to assemble. We ended up putting it in our other daughters room to match her CHERRY wood furniture.AlleyBalley
We've had this for several months and its very durable. Before we got a mattress for the top bunk we bought some wood to sit the mattress on since it wasn't going to be used that often and we got a cheaper top mattress. It's held up amazing. I have a 4 year old and 2 year old who are constantly climbing on it and pulling the drawers out. We did have a few little issues with the ways the screws int he drawers are, which resulted in a few chips of the wood inside, but nothing you can notice. Also the bottom board for the drawers is weak and doesn't hold very well, but again it doesn't really affect the use. We can still pull them in and out with ease.
One problem I had, like another user, is the color. It's more of a cherry wood than espresso. I was kinda disappointed since everything else in the room is darker, but not so much to return it. It's perfect.IsadorasMom
My son loves his new bunk bed. He loves crawling to the top bunk. Im a little disappointed because the drawers are not attached and slimply slide in and out, however, they are on rollers, which is a plus. Nice bed.Bigmamastl
you get what you paid for.
Bought this in March. one of the slacks already collapsed and broke. my son is only 4 and is the only one who sleeps on the bunk beds. For only having this bunk bed less than 6 months I'm very sad. seemed sturdy in the beginning. But after just 5 short months it gave out. you get what you paid for.lex
Not exactly what it seems
The Espresso colored bed was much lighter than pictured & actually is multi-colored. The bed arrived in 2 separate packages & parts in both packages were different colors. Easy to assemble but missing hardware pieces that hold the top part to the bottom. Much less than what I had hoped for.Annlaura
Same as everyone else who reviewed this. Very soft wood arrived with lots of damage. Slats offer no support. It actually broke the first time my son sat on it.Dad0f4
I think that they brace that the mattress lays on, could be stronger. My husband had to go spend 200 dollars on wood to make the brace stronger to hold the mattress up, cause he went right through it and his weight is 120.TheBurks
