What I expected!
Actually it was a little more than I expected. The wood was solid pine and the construction of the frame is sturdy. The only 2 complaints are #1 the drawers not being on tracks, (They basically sit on floor and slide under the bed) but that was expected from the reviews I read. #2 the slats given to support the mattresses are cheap and need reinforcing. This is easily remedied by purchasing some plywood cut to order from your local hardware store, no less than 5/8" thick (a 4'x 8' sheet should average about $12-$17). Very important to remember to keep the slats in place and place the plywood on top them. Other than that, for $299.00 the bed was cheaper than the mattresses. Very pleased with the purchase. Will be buying a second one for my 8 year old sons room, even though I see the new price is $369.00.Hotboy28562
Best for the money.
I read complaints about it being hard to assemble; it was easier than a Lego set. Two people will make it easier. With two boys rumbling and wrestling I had to put a sheet of plywood on top and more boards on the bottom, but that’s a minor cost compared to other stores wanting $1,500 to $2,000 for about the same product. Wasted 3 weekends going from furniture store to furniture store, searching the internet, and you can find one very similar to this one for a lot more. Buy it and be done that’s my advice.mjv06
Really Bad, Had to return it.
I purchased this bunk bed for my two boys and as soon as I opened it, it was a horrible color. It was pumpkin orange. Parts of the drawers were broken. the thin boards under mattress are too thin and broke on the first day. no point in reinforceing myself, they should've be better constructed. The drawers under the bed are not designed well either, they slide around to much as if they are not part of the bed. I had to return the bunk beds and get my money back.lilypad793
These are junk. very cheaply made, drawer is completely busted apart and main bed frame (bottom) broke in a main spot so I can't even put them together. I'm afraid to even make the beds that they will break with any extra weight other than my 3 yr olds. very unsatisfied and would not recommend.B
OK quality for the price
the color is not the same as the picture shown on the page, it is more like orange, not oak or honey oak. and the half of the front wood was blackish. not very pretty to have black area in orange.
the structure is fine. the only major problem is that bottome of bothe beds are too weak. If the bed is used by adult, it will break if you don't reenforce with a sheet of plywood since the bottm has only 6pieces of thin and long wood going accross side to side.
the rest of structure is well thought. it becomes two beds easily, the height is perfect. the drawer was cheaped out and too small, could be deeper.
Good bed for $299MeowMein
