Good purchase for the money, easy assembly.
I bought this bed for my granddaughters' room when they are at my house. When it came, I stared at the closed box for a week before I attempted to put it together. Turns out, it was not hard at all! I'm a 58 year old, 5'2" grandma and I put this together myself in about an hour and a half (with breaks) using only the tiny allen wrenches that came in the box. To be honest, I've put together several pieces of mail-order furniture in my life and this was the best packaged kit I've ever received. Lifting the top of the box, there was a long plastic strip taped to the inside top that pulled up the bag of hardware as soon as you open the box. Inside the bag, each set of screws was packaged in it's own separate, labeled bag. This made it super simple to keep the hardware parts straight. Each of the larger pieces was clearly labeled and packaged in a way that prevented any scratching or dinging. The instructions were clear and I was able to follow them with zero guess work. One tip: if possible, find help for the set of bars across the bottom of the bunk. It's a true pain to keep them in the holes while you line them all up. I can't imagine a better way it could have been set up, but as it is, it's a struggle alone... but not impossible. Just be prepared for a small level of frustration at that step. All of the hardware was included and the bolt holes all lined up perfectly without any problem. The included allen wrenches (there are 2) are the same size so if you have a pal, give them one and make them help you. That is the only tool you need to complete the assembly. The finished product is solid, but lightweight. I actually put it together upside down (so I could sit on the floor rather than reach overhead) then flipped it by myself without any real difficulty. When I flipped it and went to add the stabilizer bar, I discovered that I also had it facing the wrong way and had to turn it around. I did all this in a small room filled with other furnishings (including the mattress destined for the top). Overall, it was a good purchase. Assembly was as simple as it could be and the finished product is very nice. I'd recommend it in a heartbeat. I wouldn't put too much stock in the 400lb weight limit, but that's your call.Beth
Decent, sturdy loft bed
Very sturdy for the price. I didn't have the funds to buy a wooden bunk bed set so I purchased this to go over top of my daughters twin size bed. She's super happy with it and likes to sleep up there when she has friends spend the night. Sturdy loft bed.Doreen
Decent bed for the money
I bought this bed based on the reviews, but was admittedly nervous about the priceit almost seemed TOO cheap. However, I'm quite pleased with the quality! It doesn't wobbly, and the assembly was no worse than IKEA (better, in fact, as it wasn't missing any parts), and the size and dimensions are perfect. Would 100% recommend for someone looking for a low-priced loft bed!Moira
