This bed is very nice and it is sturdy..we live in a new model mobile home and I will advise you that the picture is deceiving!!! This bed looks shorter in the picture, but it is very very tall, I am 5'4" and can stand under it with only slightly ducking! My daughter has to almost lay down to get in and out of it! I love it though and she loves it too, especially the desk part! And we were able to use her XL twin mattress on it..(about 8 inches thick) and it works perfectly, it still does not go all the way to the edge though.refluxMommy

Great bed at a Great Price!!!
I bought this bed for my 10 year old daughter and just put it up yesterday. The bed is not difficult to put together. It took me 3 hours to put the entire bed together without any help. There were a few times that I thought some extra hands would be most helpful but since that wasn't an option for me, I worked through it. I did put most of the bed together while it was laying flat on the floor. This was especially helpful when attaching the desk (the desk is VERY heavy) and the rungs (?) for the mattress to lie on. Although after attaching the desk, it took quite the effort to get it to standing position.
The instructions were very clear. There are very few written directions. You mainly have to look at the pictures. Worked great for me since I never read instructions and only look at the pictures anyway. Just be mindful throughout that you are putting the pieces on with the holes on the correct sides espcially the pieces that hold the mattress. Most of the pieces won't fit if you don't have it correct- that helps.
The bed is tall. I have normal ceiling height but my daughter is still able to sit up in bed. The desk is HUGE. Plenty of work space and still has room to display all her girly things she wants sitting around.
I would recommend this bed to anyone who is considering purchasing. Having this bed gives my daughter so much more space. My daughter and I couldn't be more thrilled with this purchase. She absolutely LOVES this bed.jebsbug
Love this bed!! Slats are tricky
First I will say it takes some time to put together, make sure you look at the pictures closely, the directions and placement of parts is very important. Lucky we only had to take 1 bar off that we put on upside down. The slats are a little tricky, we had to slightly loosen some of the bolts to allow a little give to get the slats in. Start to finish it took about 4 hours, that was me and my 10 year old son. (We took our time). It is actually a good design. I thought at first it would be weaker than the usual straight up and down frame but it's very sturdy !! The desk adds a lot of stability and is a large work space. It looks nice and is a space saver for my son's tiny room. One more thing, they don't mention the height from floor to under the bed, I am 5' 3" and do have to tip my head down a little to walk under but my son who is 4'10" fits perfectly. Overall we are very happy with it!Newhouse
8 year old loves it.
It's a total pain in the butt to put together, and you're going to need two people and to dedicate most of your day to this project. The directions can be a little confusing.. but I've got to say, my 8 year old is just thrilled with it. Take into consideration also that it is taller than it is in the picture. We had a slight problem with bed placement due to my sons ceiling fan (he has a small room) and it's a lot bigger side to side than I thought but we made it work. Nice and sturdy, but be careful with all your parts because if you break or lose one they don't give you ANY extras. We put plywood down on the slats and used a 6 inch memory foam mattress.kayann00
